DAN BERRIMAN - PRESIDENT (ALTHOUGH HE PREFERS "CHANCELLOR")
Dan was approached by Derek Collins-Newman (below) to start the club in the summer of 2009. Dan is a guy who gets things done. Being originally from London, Derek asked if he could approach a bar about being the headquarters as well as recruit members. It did not take long for Dan to step up and make things happen. Within weeks, Dan has secured The Scot’s Corner as our headquarters, complete with Setanta Sports. Dan then got the word out to where originally there were 3-6 members showing up every game, we were suddenly pushing twenty.

After gaining the contact information from Derek about the Canadian Supporters Club’s rules to gain official branch status, Dan went into overdrive, finding and motivating members who would be become “One United” members. In no time, Dan achieved the mark and we were granted official status. If that was not enough, when Derek reported that the Toronto crowd does a 50/50 draw to raise funds, Dan was all over it. Dan went out and was able to fundraise to get incredible prizes such as jerseys, flags and other United items.

Everyone involved in the club would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan for his incredible amount of work and dedication to the cause. You are the man.

DAN' ROLE IN THE CLUB
As president, Dan oversees the basic running of the club and making sure things run smoothly. Dan is the main fundraising go-to-guy, running the raffles, 50/50 draws and more with enthusiasm and positivity. Dan is also in charge of finding new members and is the contact between our club and the Manchester United Supporters Club of Canada.

DEREK COLLINS-NEWMAN - IDEA GUY
Derek was the guy who got the ball rolling. Derek is a United fan who moved here from Sudbury in December of 2008. After attending some games at the Scot's Corner, he saw the potential and, after a huge turnout for the Champion’s League Final against Barcelona, decided to approach Dan about a club.

Derek is a longtime United fan who knew about the Manchester United Supporters Club of Canada. Whenever he was in Toronto, he would go their headquarters at The Main Event (Yonge & Eglinton). He described the atmosphere as “electric” and wanted to create a similar club in London. Derek is also the graphic and web designer for the club. You can visit his website at www.dereknewmandesigns.com. Wonder how "Red Till Dead" Derek is, check out the picture below from Derek's actual wedding pro-shots.

DEREK's ROLE IN THE CLUB
Derek has multiple roles in the club. First, we is the club's public relations guy. He sets up media spots such as TV and radio interviews as well as any print media. Derek designed and maintains the website. He also is the graphic designer behind our logo, posters, business cards and newsletters. Derek also organizes the club's fundraising schedule and is the treasurer, keeping track of the funds, members and other stats that help the club's functioning. Derek is also the guy with the camera most of the time and does the cluv videos.

1 - Why is Manchester United your favorite team?
The easy answer would be that Manchester United was one of the few teams on television in the 90s here in Canada. I mean, if you are going to support a club and call youself a fan, one must watch the games. That being said, I like Manchester United because they represent why soccer is called "the beautiful game". United attack whether they are up 3-0 or down 0-3. They will all be on the move, always looking for another goal. That makes them an exciting team to watch. They are pure class both on and off-the-pitch.

2 - How long have you been a United fan?
A long time.

3 - Favorite team/year and player.
I suppose it would be cliché to say the 1998-99 treble winning team but I also really enjoyed watching the 2007-2008 team (minus Tevez). Yes, I do not like Tevez. I think he is over-rated.

My favorite player currently playing would be Wayne Rooney by far but I also think Fletcher is vital.

4 - Number of United jerseys in your closet
31

5 - Favorite United item in collection
My Ryan Giggs 2008 Champions League jersey with champion badges. Although I had lots of jerseys before that, it was my first one that I could afford with a player's name and badges.

6 - All time starting XI
Schmiechel, Neville, Vidic, Bruce, Evra, Giggs, Keane, Scholes, Ronaldo, Cantona, Rooney. Subs: Fletcher, Rio (healthy), Solskjaer, Hughes
